The Side Effects of Boanmanryeong-dan: A Retrospective Analysis of Medical Records

Abstract
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the safety of Boanmanryeong-dan.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of the electronic medical records of Daegu Haany University Korean Medicine Hospital from March 2014 to October 2014 was performed. 431 outpatients who took Boanmanryeong-dan in Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of Korean Medicine were enrolled. The study was completed through medical records review.

Results: 1. There were 6 side effect cases on male, and 3 side effect cases on female out of 431 outpatients. The incidence of side effect was 2.1%. 2. The most common side effect was obtundation of tongue and lips. 3. There is no statistical significance between incidence of side effect and dosage of Boanmanryeong-dan.

Conclusion: The symptom of side effects on outpatients who took Boanmanryeong-dan was not as other adverse drug reactions often seen in Western medication. We suggest that our results contribute towards confirming the safety of Boanmanryeong-dan by offering clinical evidence.
